Operation PROM P.O. 924 Bronxville, NY 10708 914-672-3070 www.HelpPROM.org On Tuesday, March 30th, Operation PROM in conjunction with Westchester County’s Department of Social Services, will be hosting the county’s 1st ever “Prep for Prom” event for eligible Westchester County high school seniors. Operation PROM is a not-for-profit organization that helps teens who live in shelters, group homes, or very low income households. On March 30th, these students will have the opportunity to receive a free Prom dress or a low-cost tuxedo rental at the Hyatt Summerfield Suites in White Plains. In order for students to receive Prom attire, they must meet the listed requirements. We ask that a guidance counselor or social worker approve of the students’ request. Requests must be received by February 22nd. Eligible students will be contacted with an appointment time for their fitting between 9am and 6pm on March 30th. You will only receive one appointment. If you miss your appointment there is no guarantee that we will be able to accommodate you. Please arrive on time to avoid disappointment. • AVAILABILITY: Dresses are available in sizes 0-16. Plus sizes 18-24 are limited in quantity. We cannot guarantee that you will find a dress to fit you. Students are responsible for their own dress alterations. Tuxedos: a tuxedo vendor will be on premises for fittings. Tuxedo rentals, including shoes are $60. A deposit of $20 is due at the fitting. Deposits are non-refundable. Tuxedos will be delivered to the students’ high school 1-2 days prior to the date of their Prom. Balances must be paid at that time. Students must return tuxedos to their high school the next open school day after the Prom. • NO GUESTS: Due to space accommodations, NO guests will be allowed in the dress/tuxedo areas. Guests may wait in the lobby. Volunteers will assist students with their Prom attire. • TRYING ON: You will be allowed to try the dresses. To be fair to the other girls who are shopping you may not hold more than 3 dresses at one time. Tuxedos will be fitted. • RESPECT & COURTESY: Fighting over a dress or tuxedo, or place in line will not be tolerated. Any student who gets involved in a confrontation will be escorted from the building without receiving a dress. • TRANSPORTATION: Via the Bee-Line Bus, the 13 bus stops along Westchester Avenue & Corporate Park Drive. The 13 bus is available at the White Plains Transit Center. There are several buses that stop at the White Plains Transit Center, including the 1W, 14, 15, 17, 20, 40 & 60. Dresses are free of charge.
